Panda Path

This week, we visited the Panda Path pre-k students at the Spring Branch Family Development Center. We brought books to read and donate. Please describe your experience. You may write about what you enjoyed and what was challenging. How did it feel to give away the gift of a book? Did you learn anything about your buddy? Would you like to return? Please write in complete sentences.

  1. It was a joy for me to see all of you reading some favorite books to pre-k students! I know that some of your buddies were shy and others were very active. Please know that you brought the gift of a smile, and the gift of having someone read to you to every one of the students today. As one teacher told me, this is the first time some of the pre-k students have had another child read to them. Thank you for your kindness!

  10. I felt sad and happy at the same time when I let my books go. I felt sad because I was letting go of books I had used for so many years and now I was giving away some of my favorites. I felt happy because even though they were once mine, I was sharing by doing this. I was letting these kids enjoy even more books that they have, and they are lucky they get more every year! My buddies were both boys and one drew me a picture. Even though they were boys and I am a girl, I didn't care because they were so little and so cute and they were willing to read with me. My first buddy was named Maycol and my second was named Bryann. Bryann took The Backyardigans Mission to Mars and Maycol took Lilly's Big Day. They were a bit shy and didn't talk much, so I did most of the talking. It was so cool to meet the principal ! I loved going to Panda Path and I loved to see little kids enjoy the books I loved and enjoyed! It felt so good!

  11. I felt sad giving some of my favorite books away but at the same time I was happy to give my to buddies and Panda Path. My 2 buddies were so so cute 1 spoke and 1 was silent. My 1st buddy who didn't talk I shared with Lainey Shaper my other one that did talk I got all to my self. I think it was really cool to meat the principal how many times do you get to do that at a school that isn't even ours. Both my buddy wanted me to read the same things in the same order! I enjoyed seeing the kids with the books. I love Panda Path. :)

  13. I think it was really nice of everyone to donate some books and all the kids were really happy to receive these gently used books especially because that might be their first book ever gotten. I really fell in <3 with PANDA PATH because they are a helping community 4 kids who don't have as much money as us.
