The One and Only Ivan
Ivan the Silverback has been in his domain separated from his kind for years. He has made friends with Bob, Stella, Julia and precious baby elephant Ruby.Please write a few sentences about your thoughts on this book so far. What do you think? Which character is your favorite? Why? What character traits make him or her interesting to you? What big ideas or themes do you recognize in the book so far?
So far I am loving I van but it's a little sad how it minches the death and stuff. My favorite character is Ruby because she's cute, brave, curious, strong, fun, and loyal. One of Ruby's character trait that interests me is strong. Ruby was strong when her family died and when Stella died and she's all alone but Ivan is there to keep her safe. I recognize an idea is that help a best friend and take good care of others because they can be like family.
ReplyDeleteI am liking the book so far. My favorite character is IVAN why!? Because he is very funny and nice. I rally think this book is a great one because i love books with sad beginning happy ending evan though I have read this book before I could read this a million times and it would not get old! I think bob is interesting because one of his character traits is saying some thing mean and not knowing like "yes Ivan does have very bad memory" HA HA
ReplyDeleteI think The One and Only Ivan is sad that the book minches death and stuff like Abby said. My favorite charter is Stella. Stella is sweet and smart. One of the themes that I recognize is when Stella dies and they take her away in the garbage.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite character is Bob. #1, because he is so small ( IVAN bob). #2, because he lays on Ivan's belly and cannot go to sleep without it ( as proved when Stella dies and Ivan stays up for ruby).

DeleteMy favorite character is... Julia because she care's for all the animals especially Stella here's in example. When stella was about to die Julia told her father and Julia's father called Mac but it was to late. everybody have a nice night!

DeleteRuby is my favorite character because A: she is cute, B: she survives through a lot, C:she tries to make the best of things. What I'm thinking about the story is that it's sad.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite character is BOB. Why because he justs wants to help Ivan. If Ivan doesn't tell Ruby the truth, He just blurts out. I also like how he is so small and sleeps on Ivan's tummy. The story is so sad even though I have read it like a million times, It's still really sad when Stella dies. I also like Ruby she is so curious and just wants to know what's going on. My favorite part of the book (part that we have read) is when Ivan tells the story about him and Tag. It is sad but a very cool story. It also shows that if you play a sport or start drawing when you are little that is what you want to do forever.

Ivan is my favorite because he cares about allot of stuff such as ruby bob Stella and mac. The part that i do naot like about the story is that Stella died. The part that i do like about the story is that Ivan is taking care of Ruby.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite character is Ivan. I think one of Ivan's traits is trust. Because when Stella ask Ivan to take care of Ruby, Stella trusted Ivan. Also Ivan is the kind of gorilla who is kind of gloomy, because when Stella pasts away he starts to not be himself.

Bob is funny , caring,and of corse a adorable little puppy.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite character is Ruby. I like her because she has so much energy and she is not very scared to speak up and she is always asking people to tell her story's . I think her character is energetic. Still every character is good.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite character is Ivan he is kind helpful trustworthy and brave. He even promised Stella before she asked what she wanted. It is sad how Stella died it took 5 men and a forklift they put her body in a dump truck. I like it when Ivan troughs meaballs.
