Science Share!

Hi Class!

I know you all have been working hard to build a model of the scull.  You also had a skull drop and then dissected your model.  What new learning do you have about the scull?  Impress me with your knowledge!  Write at least three sentences.

  1. On skulls theres cracks on the top of it to divide the different bones. The skull is the most important bone in the whole body because it protects the brain and if your brain was damaged you make different decisions.Skulls also have holes to put your eyes, nose and ears.

  2. Well first of all we didn't accualy need anything to protect the skull. When we finished the scull drop we (tried) poped our ballons but....
It didn't want to pop so Mr. Vu had to pop it himself. And when we did the scull drop none of our class's ballons popped except at the end Turner punched his team's ballon. Hope everyone is having a nice day. :D

  4. We put 3 layers of tape on our skull. Then we put tin foil on it. when we dropped, it did not pop. At the end we opened up our skull. Then we dropped it on the concrete, we tried 3 times and then Mr. Vu did it once and it did not pop. Then he did it again it popped! I was suprised that it wasn't popping. Well, everybody have a good day bye!!!

  5. We used model magic paper and tape. The skull is used to protect the brain like a helmet. Our skull was named Elizabeth! Have a good night!

  6. Well I didn't do much but the drop was fun! Allison, Ginny, and I got the balloon wet before we dropped it (the key was to get our balloon wet). On the third try it finally broke! It was funny when Turner squeezed his team's balloon! See you at school! :D

  8. It was so much fun, our skull was called Billy Bob JoeJr. The brain is so important it controls Rey thing you do even breathing. The different parts of the brain control what you do!

  9. There are three parts of the skull. There are cracks that divide them. The skull protects the brain. If the brain gets damaged then you might make different decisions, or like different foods depending on what part of the brain gets damaged.

  11. Drew, Aaron, and I used tin foil and tape to make a skull. We decided to name him "Bob". Then, we made funny face out of clay. We realized that he might fall on his face so instead we wrapped tin foil and tape around his skull again. Next, we replaced the face with a cut out paper face. At last, we used strings to make his hair. The next step was to drop the skull. There was ladder number 1 and ladder number 2. The first one was short, but the second one was tall. We were so worried that Bob might pop. But, in the end, nobody's balloon popped. Right after we dropped our balloon, Turner felt like punching his balloon, and he did so water poured out even though he was not supposed to. In the very end, we dissected our skull. We tried to smash our balloon three times, but it didn't pop! Mr. Vu decided to pop it for us. I hope everyone has a nice day! :D

  12. What I learned about sculls. They have lines in the middle of the head. Caroline, Turner and I made our scull out of tin foil, paper, tape, model magic and other stuff. When we dropped it Turner punched it and the balloon popped. We covered it with black model magic and the black water went every where on me. What I know about sculls is that they are really hard and they protect your brain.

  13. It did not take a lot of protection to make it stay alive. I know that there are lines on the scull and they each have there own name...I forgot. Ginny,Katie Recce, and I covered it with plastic bags, put on tinfoil, put cotton balls, model magic then last bot not lest we decorated it. It was not fun to see Timmy go.

  14. I learned that the skull has many different parts and if you damage a part you can make different decisions. My group was with Grant and Ian our skull lots of supplies like Model Magic, paper. Tin Foil, Clear wrap, and lots of tape our skull name was Bill Bob Joe Jr. Also I learned that the brain stem goes all the way to your spine and there are no blood vessels in it! And it had so many different parts
