Science Share

I know you have been working hard to prepare for your science test. Please teach me some information about structures and electricity. Impress me with your knowledge! Write at least three sentences.

  1. An atom has protons, nutrons and electrons. Triangles and X's are stronger than squares. You can make an electromagnet by rapping a wire around a nail then powering the wire.

  2. You can make a magnet out of electricity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can wrap a wire around a nail to make a magnet strong enough to pick up a paper clip!!!!!!!!!!! If an atom is, let's say, number 7 on the periodic table it will have 7 protons, 7 neutrons and 7 electrons zooming around the outside of the atom. If a bridge has squares on the sides, it will most likely not be very strong.

  3. I learned that its stronger to make triangle not squares. I used to make cool sercits that looked like stairs that light up. I learned how to make a magnet but I can't quite magnutize a paper clip.

  4. If an atom has 8 protons the atom has 8 electrons and it has 8 neutrons.Squares are not strong. You can make a magnent with a wire, nail and a batterie.

  5. X's and triangles are stronger than squares. In a series circuit if one goes out they all go out. In a parallel circuit if one light bulb goes out they all stay on. In your house you want a parallel circuit because in a series circuit if your out for the weekend or something and your power goes out your refrigerator also goes out and your food gets rotten. A short circuit is very dangerous because it gets really hot and could catch your house on fire.

  6. Electricity travels through a connection of wires called circuit.
When electricity is moving in a circuit, current.
    Triangles are stronger than squares.

  7. I learned that if you want a bridge to be strong you have to have triangles because squares bend to the side when the bridge has a lot of wieght on it. And did you know arch bridges have abuttments no anchers. Also truss bridges are the strongest bridges because they have a bunch of triangles. Thats all thankyou.

  8. I learned that a Insulater is a material that does not let electricity travel through like plastic is a insulater. A short circuit does no work and can start a fire! The center of mass is a point of balance in a object. Well that's it for now I can't wait to meet the new guy love Kate

  9. Your center of mass is at your belly button. A circuit that DOES NO WORK not DOES NOT WORK is called a short circuit (this can cause fires!) When an electric current goes through a wire it creates a magnetic field. Electromagnets are an essential piece of many common devices such as telephones, electric motors, generators, televisions, door bells etc. Hope you guys are as exited as I am about our sub tomorrow!

  10. A bridge has hangers, a deck and the span. Electricity that is moving through a circuit is called a current of electricity. Protons and neutrons are in the nucleus or central core of an atom, while the electrons orbit around the nucleus.

  11. A SHORT CIRCUT
    *does no work
    * gets hot /can start fires
    *wears out battery
    SERIES CIRCUIT
    *dim lights
*if one goes out they all go out
    PARALLEL CIRCUIT
    *both bulbs are bright
*one stays lit the other goes out
*wears out battery twice as fast
What is a circuit? A circuit is a connection of wires that electricity runs through.

  13. I learned that short circuits can start a fire. Triangles are stronger than squares. Wires need to be in a circle to power a lightbulb!

  14. Milliliters are the same as cm3. Triangles=superstrong. Xs=superDUPERstrong. Squares=flimsy.

  15. I know that...Triangles and Xs are stronger than squares. That you should put a parallel circuit in your house because if you don't when one light goes out everything does. That short circuits are VERY DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
