We had a wonderful day today at the Houston Heritage Society and the Julia Ideson Library! We toured historical buildings and had hands-on experiences with artifacts from the past.
Write 4 sentences reflecting on your favorite parts of the field trip. What did you enjoy most? What did you learn? What are the parts of the day you will never forget?

  1. I really liked the cabin it was really cool to see all the stuff inside. I also enjoyed the art and my favorite piece was the one you first sall when you walk in. Another thing I liked was the store it was really cool to see all the toys and things there. A thing I learned was that they have soap savers to save your soap.:):):):):):)

  2. I think I liked the log cabin the most because it was like what the pioneers use to live in it was way cooler than I expected. I also really liked the roof of the library it was so cool. I really liked the field trip.

  3. My favorite part of the tour was the wooden cabin because it was interesting to be in.I will also never forget the cabin.I learned that they had things to fix the bed.I also enjoyed being in the replica of the store they had.It was really fun.

  5. I really liked the log cabin because it was reflected on the pioneers. I also liked the curved roofs on the church. The Duncan general store was fun because it has toys and stuff from the movie we watched together. The field trip was very fun.

  6. I really liked the log cabin because it was so old fashionedish and it was really cool. The beds were very odd looking! I'd much rather sleep in my bed than it. I really liked how the sound echoed off the walls in the church.

  7. My favorite part of the tour was to see the general store, because we got to see a lot of toys like the view master. The store sold so many things it was like Target! I also liked the log cabin because we got to tighten ropes on a bed. We saw a port-a-potty which is called a outhouse it was really funny!

  8. I really liked the log cabin. It was pretty cool. I learned that all the buildings were made in the 1800's. I liked that everything was still in the buildings, such as the furniture. I will never forget the smell inside the log cabin!:^)

  9. My favorite place was the general store it had toys, dolls, food, and more! I also liked the sealing in the library the sculpting and colors I could hardly take my eyes off of it. I learned that they made dolls out of their crops. I also learned that the churches back then were not only for church but they were used for school during the week. : D

  10. I really liked the log cabin. It was cool to be inside one for the first time. I also liked the library and the toys. I also liked the court house because i've never been in one before. The part that I won't forget was the library.

  12. I really liked the pioneer house i can't belive an acual pioneer lived in that house! I learned that they used to have a one room school! Imagine Kinkaid in one room that would be alot of people in one room! I will remember that people struggled back then this is why i like 2013! I loved the herritage secity and i hope we can visit it again!

    I also really liked the log cabin and the general store. My favorite toy was the buzz saw. I had a lot of fun at the Heritage Society.

  14. I liked the log cabin because it was like pioneer cabin. I also like the Dunken genral shop because there where toys that i have never seen or played with because they where back in the old days toys there that i have never seen. My favorite thing was the genral shop because of the toys.

  15. The thing that I enjoyed the most is the children's reading room. I will never forget it!But I also liked the log cabin a lot. It seemed like I could almost see the Ingalls family living in it! What I learned was facinating.It is that they had school in the church-room!!!

  16. It was cool to be in a real pioneer house and talk about it. It was worse cause they had all the construction and stuff. The church was fun with ringing the bell. The library is interesting the paintings there were good. :):):):):):):)

  17. I real liked the cabin it was coo to finally be in one of them for he first time and see what pioneers lived in. I also liked the toys to one of my favorit one was the cup ball thingumubob. I liked the library because it was like I was in a castol. the part that I would never forget is the library.
