Living History Museum
We visited 4th Grade's Living History Museum. Please tell us about one of the people you learned about and write two or three interesting facts about them.

  1. I met Nellie Bly, a woman who traveled around the world in 72 days back in the 1800s by ship and train. Nellie Bly broke the previous record for traveling the world in 80 days. She also fought for women's rights. She was a brave woman!

  2. I learned about Milton Hershey and I found out that back in the 1900's Hershey's chocolate only cost 1 cent. Milton made enough money to donate 60 million dollars to the Hershey company. Now, he would be 155 years old.

  3. I learned about Noah Webster he invented the dictionary. Noah also had 8 kids that is a lot of kids. He died in 1846 I also learned about Mohandas Gandi He was born in October 2, 1849 and moved to South Africa in 1893.

  4. I learned about John Paul Jones.John was born on July 6th. He led the Us navy. John died on July 18th.Also I learned about Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He went to Harvard and died in 1848

  5. I learned about Rachel Carson. Rachel wrote tons a books about the sea and gave good knowlage about the sea. And I also learned about Susan b. Anthony. She helped women get there rights.

  6. I learned about Milton Hershey he was born on Sep. 14 1857 in 1894 he started the her shy company. He finally made his First Hershey bar in 1900 he was very proud.

  7. I learnd about Jane Goddall she was born April 24 1984. When she was 18 she quit collage to take care of animals. She says chimpanzies are like humans she won the Benjamen Franklin award.

    Noah Webster made the first american dictionary. Noah webster was born on 1755 on a 80 Ankara farm New havens, Kenetuket. :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

  11. I learned about Neil Armstrong. He was born in 1935 and died last year. He became a test pilot before he became an astronaut. :^)

  12. Of all the people that I learned about,Rachel Carson was the best. She had published her first book by tthe time she was ten. Also,when she went to college,Rachel specilized in zoology and marine biology. Rachel Carson was a truly interesting woman,and I hope to learn more about her!

    His favorite character was Horton from Horton Hears a who. His wife died of cancer. He sold 200,000,000 copies of his books in his life time.

  16. I learned that Dr. Seuss' first book was the Cat in the hat. I also learned that there were over 20 different cat in the hats. Dr Seuss was my favorite childhood book
    writer.

  18. Milten hershy was boren in sep 14 in 1875 he owned many companys one of them was the hershy company and he was the first one to make hershy bars. If he were still alive he would be 155 years old.
