A Long Trip

We are reading The Oregon Trail Diary of Hattie Campbell. Hattie and her family will travel 2,000 miles from Independence, Missouri to Oregon Country. The trip is slow-going and takes 6 months by wagon! Think about the longest trip you have been on. How did you get to your destination (hike, bike, car, plane)? What did you do for entertainment? How did you feel when you arrived?
**Please write a few well-written sentences. Do your best!

  1. My longest trip has been from Houston to Kathmandu, Nepal. Kathmandu is over 8,000 miles away! I took two airplane flights. The first flight was 16 hours long. I travelled for over 24 hours total. On the long flight, I thought I might go crazy! I tried to sleep and also watched some movies. I couldn't wait to stretch my legs and take a walk when I got off the plane. When I arrived, I felt relieved to be safe and excited to explore!

We took it by plane. What I did to entertain myself was by sleeping, playing on my iPad, look at a magazine, or eat. When we arrived I felt relieved that we we're back on ground, happy, ready to party, and relax. First we stopped at California to spend one night with our grandparents, then the next day we got on our second plane to Hawaii.
