Today, inspired by our Forever Falcon Faris, we traveled to KIPP Shine to work with Brighter Bites.
Wow! We worked diligently and quickly to pack around 700 bags of produce for families. I would love to hear what you thought about our time there. Please respond using a 5 sentence paragraph.

  1. I am very thankful for the experience to give our time and energy to people who need it today. I absolutely was inspired but the amazing banners and quotes around the gym and school entrance. I am happy that over 300 families will receive two bags of healthy fruits and vegetables. I'm thankful that my student Faris continues to inspire us to give to others!

  3. Todays field trip was so awesome. It was awesome because we got to make mt. Bagmore and we helped put fruits and vegetables into bags for less wealthy people. I think it was fun helping out by opening bags and filling them. Maddy and I were doing the apples and we had to do 7 in each bag. I hoped you liked it too!

  4. It always makes me feel good when I do something for someone! Going to KIPP Shine and teaming up with Brighter Bites was such an awesome experience! I love that we packaged just fruits and veggies, I had only packaged sandwiches and various foods like that. I think that was good that we did that too because not only are we helping a community, but we are packaging healthy meals for families! I also can't believe that the bags we packaged will go to 300 families! And of course, Faris, who inspires us and believes in us, to help everyone!

  6. Towards the end of the feild trip looked at all the bags done and thought wow thats how many families in need we helped out. I was working at the orange station and it was fun but in my second box I found a green, moldey orange and I had never seen an orange so bad. and it made me think the fact that we have such good food and some people don't it made me sad. I thought it was amazing that we help 350 families. It was a really fun trip!

  11. It was so awesome! I am so exited that we got to go and help others it felt good. Because this is probably a one time experience because I don't know were else I would do that. It didn't know that it was 700 bags it felt like only 50. I sorted the vegetables but I cant remember the name of the vegetable that I sorted but some of it wa srotten so I helped out by carrying the bags to the spot. This was probably tied for first with all of the other field trips!

  16. I had so much fun! It was awesome, my favorite part was the bag mountain it looked really impressive and tall when we finished I liked the samal train wee had going asking each other questions like... "We need a pineapple?!" or "Need more grapefruit over here!" I felt a tiny bit scared as we walked into the big room but onse we got going it was so not scary at all. In the end it felt like we had worked for 2 minutes and still needed too keep going! I would totally do that again! I had a lot of fun and I want to do more stuff like that!
