Independent Reading Check In!
I just finished reading the Orphan Train over the weekend. I couldn't believe that 200,000 children were sent away to new families out West in the early 1900s. The book I read was fiction, but based on many true facts and stories, so historical fiction. I loved the main characters and was a little sad to finish the book. I've moved on to another very dramatic book recommended to me by Mrs. Papadakes! My backup reading is cook books, magazines and of course, Toddler 411 to learn about Aliya!

Right now, I am reading a book called Princess For Hire. It is about a girl named Desi and Desi is stuck as a pet store job. Her ex-best friend is giving her a hard time because her friend, Celeste was voted Miss Idaho. One day, while Desi is taking a bath while reading the newspaper looking for ads for jobs. Jobs better than a pet store employee. A ad catches her eye. It says " Princess For Hire teen girls!! Call Meredith" She somehow calls Meredith and becomes a princess sub!!!!!!!!

I'm reading a great book called Stella Batts Needs a New Name. I love Stella she is trying to make a book about herself. She has a cute sister named Penelope. I can't believe that just because she said it at a lunch table to her friends she influenced them to changed their names. her parents own a candy store called Batts Confections and she went on a field trip there and her friend Lucy said that they should make there new names candy names. Next I planing to read the 2 book in the Stella Batts book series.

Deleterite now i'm reading a book called coyote assume. it's about this guy who snuck a coyote and try's to hide it but once when he hid it he put in his vest but when he was walking home his dad said what is that smell,then brad [witch is his name] said what smell like he didn't notice then the coyote shuffled in his vest and his dad said what is that rustling in your vest.nothing he responded but then his dad noticed that he snuck a coyote. And well thats about it for me to tell you because if you want to read it than you would want a suprize not a spoiler alert!
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading The Castle In The Attic. Now i am reading Riding Freedom. It is about a girl named Charlotte and she lived in a orphanage for boys. Her favorite horse dies and her best friend gets adopted. Charlotte runs away and cuts her hair and wears boys cloths so the mean orphan manager does not recognize her or will he? Read the book to find out more!! Oh i almost forgot Charlotte has a special way with horses. Her parents died in a carriage when she was one. She was the only one that survived.

DeleteI am reading percy jackson, i feel like the percy jackson sereis was ment for me. I mean i've never wanted to read so much. If you like greck motholigy i would defelently recomed the percy jackson sereis for you. The percy jackson books have so much action in them. I'm at the part were Anabeth puts a healing cloak on a big oak tree but it's the oak tree the keeps bad guys from getting in to camp half blood. The oak tree was pisoned so percy and his friends went on a quest to heal the poisen. Thalia Zueses doughter died trying to get to camp half blood, Zues made her the oak tree andwhen Anabeth put the healing cloak on the oak tree that was pisened it healed the oak tree but also brought Thalia back to life!!!! That's all i will tell you read the book to find out more.

DeleteI am reading Poseidon Earth Shaker, it is a graphic novel about greek mythology. In one part this person tells a cyclops to drink wine and he drinks it and it burns his eye so he can't see anymore. He is blind and calls to Poseidon. The book is really good so far.

ReplyDeleteToday I started reading a book called Heidi Heckelbeck with Fiona. Me and Fiona have read 7 chapters and their are 11 chapters. I told Fiona that the younger brother in the story was like my little brother Boone.Because in the story he says MOM alot and loves school.

DeleteRight now I am reading the Blood Of Olympus. It was really good. Its funny and cool. It has different people too. It tells you about the gods and many other stuff . I am not even close to finishing the book it is so cool. Every time I get upstairs, I start reading. It has inspired me . The other books were good too. They all have action and excitement. Its called the Percy Jackson series. Percy is for Purses. I forgot his power though. Now I know that it's awesome and it makes me read more and get motivated.

I just started Glory Be. I am not very far. I am also reading My Weird School. Stella is also reading a My Weird School. I just finished the second Boxcar Children. It is about four children whose grandfather owns an island. They spend their summer there. They find incredible things on this island. I will not tell you any more because then I would be the spoiler. My next book to read is Wonder. I know that some schools have read it for all school reads. In the car I listen to Harry Potter 3 and read along with the tape. The reader captures Hermione's voice. I have seen the movie many times but the book is so much different. My sister likes the books and the movies.
